[Life] Cleaning Up
So how did I spend my Sunday, you probably aren't asking yourself right now. Well, I started by playing far too much World of Warcraft. I'm gonna start cutting back on it soon, I promise. No level gains, but I found an excellent place to mine, and I put a bunch of metal I didn't need up on the auction house. So I've gone from 100-some gold to (at this moment) 368 in a day or two. Thank you, player-managed economy!

But that's not all I did. I managed to get some cleaning done! I got the junk that was sitting next to my chair put away, and then I actually pulled one of the bins out of the closet and went through it like I'd been saying I would. I kept about... three quarters of what was in it, I think. But that was just a first pass. When I go through it again to actually sort it, I'll weed out the unneeded items further.

And the important thing is, I got rid of a quarter of what was in there. I actually threw things away. Of my own free will. This is not quite "unprecedented", but it's close! I am a notorious packrat.

That's all for tonight, but look forward to future posts on the subject! I think I'll share some of the interesting things my cleaning turns up. A quick preview: tonight I ran across an original Game Boy, a baggie full of old coins I'd collected and lost track of, and a little treasure map I bought from jengagne all the way back in 2005! I think this's gonna be fun.

Woot for original Gameboys... I've still got mine. The very first console I ever had.

It's always amazing to find what you still have when you trawl through bins and drawers that you never look through, eh? Last time I did, I found a baseball signed by the Lansing Lugnets that I won in middle school... and my 10-year-old graphing calculator.

Cleaning is both traumatic and a relief, isn't it? I'm doing a lot of it lately getting ready for my kid to appear. (Trying to work on it early since I assume I'll be even more tired and braindead later...)

And YAY for treasure map finding!! Yeah, it'd have to have been back in 2005 since all my art these days is virtual. :)
