OK, catching up! Let us cover this month quickly and in an organized fashion.

Sigh. I've been fighting a losing battle with a series of stomachaches. I've missed classes because of it, which sucks. A lot. If I'm still not feeling in top shape by Monday, I think I'd better head to the health center and request a check-up. Hopefully it's just a recurring bug. I've always taken a long time to recover from sicknesses.

Seriously. I always, always buy more than I planned to.

First I went to 21st Century, where I bought six volumes of manga, as well as a volume of Bone. I've finally got all eight volumes of Chobits now (ending = ULTIMATE CUTENESS. Even better than the anime ending), as well as the fifth Rave Master and the first Real Bout High School (never seen it before, but it looked interesting). I also picked up the first volumes of Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura, to aid in a project I'm working on. I'll tell you more about that later.

Then I went to Barnes & Noble (Oh, I'm not done yet!). I got a nice bound sketchbook, a how-to-draw book focusing on manga-style fantasy settings, the latest Shonen Jump, and two books to help me write!

I've joined the National Novel Writing Month project! My prospective novel is called "Cyan." It's about a boy who wakes up with amnesia, so he wanders around town looking for help, and he meets this girl whose dad is an engineer working with the government, and -- okay, okay. I plan to set aside an hour a day to write, and I'll be posting what I write online on a regular basis. So you'll find out why this boy isn't normal soon enough.

Last Friday I had a lot of fun. Doing what, you ask? A lab exam for my C++ class. The assignment was to sort a linked list in a specific pattern. I hadn't done any serious programming in a while, and, well, I'd forgotten how much I enjoy it. It's just you and the code, and you're working toward your goal, describing to the computer exactly what you want it to do. I got stuck in several places, but that only made it more satisfying when I finally got the program running flawlessly.

Translation: The Japanese language is interesting. (Hee, got the correct kanji and everything. ^_^)

Today I took a hundred-point test in Japanese class. Considering how nervous I was going in, I think I did really well. I forgot the hiragana for ke (け), so I had to misspell a word, but other than that it was fun (楽しかったです). And now some more gratuitous Japanese: 一週間に五回日本語のクラスに行きます。 Which I believe means "I go to Japanese class five times a week." I think I'll ask my teacher if I got it right on Monday.

My name in katakana: ケイロン・シェイ

Counting from 1 to 10: 一、二、三、四、五、六、七、八、九、十。

(Okay, I'm having way too much fun with the Windows Japanese input.)

And I'm spent. Next entry: I talk more about Cyan, explain a bit about my "secret project," talk about the music I've been listening to lately, and hopefully DRAW SOMETHING FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE.

November's almost here. Bring it on.

Feeling: indescribable indescribable
Listening to: Scrapped Princess - Little Wing

Re: Ending of Chobits
Isn't it, though? I actually teared up.

Re: Death by bookstores
I can relate. Hoo~ Books take the highest priority in the budget, over food, over transportation... There's a reason I returned from Japan with 5000円 to my name, and it's that I couldn't make it to the last bookstore I was planning to hit on the way home.

By the way, I think it's impossible to have too much fun with the 日本語 magic input.

I'm way behind my goal for NaNoWriMo so far, and it's all a lot of ripping crap, but there's plenty of time yet to put forth a concentrated effort. 頑張りましょう、ね!

I found the first volume of Sailor Moon to be odd. The next book is serious.

I don't paticularly like Chobits because CLAMP doesn't even try on it. Just compare the art to Magic Knight Rayearth and Chobits art is a pile of worthless crap.
