[Life] Mixed Blessing

Good thing: my copy of World of Warcraft arrived this morning, about four or five days earlier than I expected it to!

Bad thing: all but half a dozen servers are down for maintenance, and the WoW web site won't load, so I can't put in the code to activate my account.

Ah, well. I can be patient. More good than bad.

Not much else going on so far today. Am maintaining my getting-out-of-bed-before-10 winning streak. Had a very interesting conversation with my girlfriend before she left for work. And have today and two more days off to look forward to.

Really, life is quite good.

I'm assuming you're still planning on Dragon*Con. Do you know your plans yet for getting there? If you would like to coordinate so we arrive close to each other for mutual protection on the way to the hotel, I'm up for that.

(Not that I think there's danger, but I've been in Hartsfield-Atlanta exactly twice, and some of the people there are vicious and rabid. And then the workers...)

Hartsfield vicious and rabid?

How bizarre. I've never had that experience traveling there.

Still, I'd rather you both traveled together too. Less difficulty coordinating meetings and such like.

Ah! Yes, I do know my plans. I've bought the plane tickets; I'll be arriving... Ah, here we are.
September 01, 2005
Departing Flint, MI (FNT) at 2:34 PM
Arriving Atlanta, GA (ATL) at 4:30 PM
Is that earlier than you're planning to leave? I can't recall if you've said when you're heading down or not.

And sure, if it's possible, we might as well wander the city together. ^_^

...OK, you get in there about 6 hours before I do. I couldn't get the Thursday Before off, so I'm catching the 8 PM out of Newark down.

Oh well. Supershuttle it is. I'm sure we can coordinate something. I'll let the two of you have my cell number so you can contact me, leave messages, text-message, what have you.

...or since Indigo and I both have Sidekicks, we can AIM each other...

...wow, I keep forgetting that. I think my brain cells are no longer working right.

Yep. More time to work on your art, Mr. I-Slacked-Off-on-May's-ABTI-Project!

I did not "slack"! I just... Well, you see there was... I sorta had to... Okay, so maybe I slacked.

*sheepish grin* I'll definitely do some drawing over the next few days.

I keep thinking to myself that starting a webcomic would be a wonderful way to work on my artistic skills (or lack thereof). Unfortunately, I don't have anything to write about...

I think we may be in the same boat. A generalized desire to draw something, but little motivation beyond that.
truebluespark From: truebluespark Date: June 28th, 2005 09:15 am (UTC) (Link)
I do know the feeling. I have lots of ideas for webcomics, though. herotype is always nudging me (well, "shoving", more like) to get back to Protection, of course, but there are about a dozen other comic ideas rattling around in my brain.

It may be just a matter of building up enough motivation to start working on them.
paradisacorbasi From: paradisacorbasi Date: June 28th, 2005 09:21 am (UTC) (Link)
You could just consolidate the ideas into Protection and have them be stuff Justin encounters on his travels.

truebluespark From: truebluespark Date: June 28th, 2005 09:34 am (UTC) (Link)
Nice idea, but unfortunately a lot of those ideas just wouldn't fit into the Protection universe. "Terra Guardian", for example, is set in Japan, and it's already got a main character; throwing Justin into it would be gratuitous. And some of my stories, like "Odd Ones Out" and "Project Valkyrie", don't even take place on Earth, let alone present-day Earth.

Ah, well. Obviously I shall just have to become fabulously rich, retire early, and spend the rest of my life creating. *grin*
