Inventor's Log
The Life, Times, Thoughts, and Works of a Creative Young Man
[Life] Projects Compiled

Okay, y'know what I haven't been doing lately? EVERYTHING. ALWAYS. Forrester Labs has not been updated in over a month. This must change, and soon.

Now, my creative juices have been flowing more lately, but I need to put them to good use. (All those suggesting innuendo in the previous sentence will be shot.) So I'm gonna talk a bit about the things I want to work on. If you see me in the near future, and I'm not working on at least one of these, please smack me upside the head.

  • See
    • I've gotta get an Art page up and running. And, for that matter, I should draw more stuff for said Art page. I've got a bunch of sketches and drawings (including the finished version of the drawing of indigoskynet I posted earlier) that haven't made it to any web site yet.
    • I have several Flash animations in the works. One's a parody of the video to an Elvis remix, one's a parody of the Potter Puppet Pals, one's an animutation (that speaks for itself). It'd be nice if I had something to put on Newgrounds.
    • I have quite a few LJ icons that haven't made it to the page yet. Gotta get those up. And make more for myself while I'm at it.
    • Comics. Need I say more?
  • Read
    • Fanfiction. It's been ages since I wrote any fanfiction. Let's see, I should do an H/G piece, since I promised flyingcarpet, and I ought to pull together those scraps I wrote for "White-Out", and I've had a few Cheeky Angel ideas in my head for a while, and I should try to continue Cheshire Grin and Project O.N.E., and there's all those Dark Cloud 2 fanfics I never got more than a few paragraphs into... And while I'm thinking of it, the fanfiction page itself is still incomplete. Sad.
    • Poetry! I've been writing a bit lately, but there's a whole bunch of old poems that haven't seen the light of day in years! Including one award-winning poem I did back in high school! Heh, I'll post that one later. I'm still very proud of it.
    • Original fiction is something I've never done much of, but not for lack of ideas. Lucky Break is the one I like the most; it's about a girl from a charmed family who meets the reason her family is charmed. I have about 15 percent of the first chapter for that written.
  • Hear
    • I want to write music, but I'm not good at it. I can think of melodies, but it's difficult to A) get that melody down and B) add a background to it. But I've got a silly little rap here kipperton did a while ago, in which I sang read a verse of my own. And I've made a few MIDIs before; I could post those, too.
    • I have to dig up my old song parodies! I actually wrote some pretty good parody lyrics back in the day. I think my favorite is "The Heat is Off".
  • Play
    • I should make a page for my sages_of_chaos characters. It'd be cool to have a place tucked away on my site where I confess to playing characters like redreflect. Only I haven't made a secret of playing him, adorable summon creature that he is. But I do have secret characters, and it's hard to resist the urge to claim credit for them. Especially... no, I won't say it. *snicker*
    • Must get back into interactive fiction. I cannot have my only contribution to the field be a spastic and buggy entry in the 6th IFcomp.
  • Interact
    • The Inventor's Log hasn't been kept up-to-date with my LiveJournal. That's mainly because it's a lot easier to update my LJ than it is to update that blog. So I need to catch it up and get back into the habit of posting both places at once. And I ought to copy my phone posts over, too.
    • waffledog reminded me yesterday (in a friend-locked post), I started work some time ago on an automated webcomic updater, tentatively titled "AutoComic". I should pull that PHP code out and see about making it, y'know, functional.
    • I'd like to have a message board on Forrester Labs. I'll work on that. Wonder what version phpBB's on now.
  • Visit
    • I haven't updated Limyaael's Rants in months. (Sorry, limyaael!) And I should put together the "Web Sites" and "Hosted Sites" link pages.
  • About
    • Basically everything in the About section needs work. The Site Status (FAQ), Roster (people involved), and Lab Blueprints (link list).

The guy who does Potter Puppet Pals and the animutation stuff is cool. I have a video he made of creepy yodelling puppet clowns.

Let us know when these animations are done!

Oh, god, I remember that video! *snicker* trapezzoid is some kind of frightening genius.

I'll definitely mention it here when I get any animations finished. *grin*

Oh, I didn't know he had a journal. I only knew him through the eerie bonds of goonhood.

Hey, what fandoms do you read/write for? I'd love to check out some of your stuff, where can I find it?
truebluespark From: truebluespark Date: April 15th, 2005 01:09 am (UTC) (Link)
Oh, let me see... I've completed fanfics for Harry Potter, Invader Zim, and Konjiki no Gash Bell, and I have in-progress fanfics for Fruits Basket, One Piece, Ranma 1/2. But that's only what I've posted online -- I have ideas for about a bajillion other fandoms.

My FanFiction.Net profile is right here; since the fanfiction page on Forrester Labs isn't complete yet, that's the best place to find all my stuff. I'm not putting my future fics there, though, since it takes way too much effort to change the formatting so they don't look hideous.

one's a parody of the Potter Puppet Pals

THIS one I gotta see! :)

Bwahaha, I am looking forward to getting that one done. It's gonna be kind of an in-joke, though.

OMG, I didn't even know you're an Azumanga Daioh fan too!
I freakin' LOVE that series. I've even read some of the manga, but the anime is so much better ^^

Oh, definitely. Watched it on fansub long before the DVDs (which I don't have yet but do have my eye on), bought the manga as soon as I could snap it up.

I've actually just started playing Maya over on this bizarre multiversal advice column community. (...Wow, it's really hard to describe sages_of_chaos in one sentence.)
