See, I bought a new video game this week. Pokémon Soul Silver, which (along with its partner game, Heart Gold) is the latest Pokémon game for the Nintendo DS. I've been feeling like getting into Pokémon lately, since I've been looking at a Pokémon-themed LJ RP (more on that in a later post), but the last one I played was Pokémon Blue for the original Game Boy. And I never even got very far in it. So I asked my colleagues over at CFUD, and they advised me that HG/SS (being a much-improved remake of the second generation games) was probably the best starting point for a total newbie like me.
Thus I ordered Soul Silver, and it arrived just yesterday! The game comes with a Pokéwalker, which is basically a cute little pedometer; you can put one of your Pokémon into it and walk around with them, finding items and playing mini-games. I put one of my Pokémon into it (a Weedle named Stiny, if you care), and this morning I put it on right before I left for work.
Guess how many steps I accumulated over the course of my 8½ hour shift? If you answered twenty-freaking-thousand, you are correct! 20,306 was the exact count when I sat down at the bus stop at 3:30. And adding in the walking to and from class, it totalled up to 22,164 by the time I got back to the apartment. As I said to Indigo, "I am officially never again getting down on myself for being tired after work." I knew I moved around a lot, but I didn't realize it was that much!
So that's what's been up with me today. Oh, and speaking of class, today was the last day of my summer course! It seems the last time I posted was before I started this one, so I'll just summarize: Accounting Systems, four hours a day Tues/Thurs, working in a group and learning how to use programs like Peachtree, Access, and Excel. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot! It was low on lecturing and high on working.
